It's Official, we leave the 31st!!

So, we've finally bought our tickets and will be leaving this fine rainy countryside for another on tuesday at midnight. I am so excited. Now all we have to do is get organized, and get on that plane.

We are flyng AirChina...which looks pretty shwank, 18hour to Taipei and then another 4 to Bangkok. We get there at 4:45pm, which gives us a good amount of tome to find our hostel and have some dinner....perfect.

I'm getting to know the pharmacists and doctors on Bowen pretty well this week as I go back and forth for more pills, shots and meds to make sure we survive this foreign land. It is good that we are prepared, although I think the more research we do on all the strange things we can so easily catch, just makes us more paranoid.

So today I pack up my Bowen bedroom and get ready for anoter night out filled with goodbyes and excited banter. Tomorrow, about 35 of us are renting the water taxi and going to Grandma's Pub for a good meal and a nice sunset cruise. Should be great. So, I will have to save up some energy for that one.

Sunday and slow moving

Another night out, another hangover, another day of planning for the big trip.....

The show last night was so good! I highly recomend that everyone catch his show when he's in your town. 'Big John Bates and the Voodoo Dollz' rock, and they travel and play all over Canada and the world for that matter. When in Ottawa they play mostly Zeaphods, and Babylon, in Montreal, the Green Room, Cafe Campus, and Gerts...just something to keep in mind.

So tonight I enjoy my favorite (and only) night of tv on the projector at the Pub. And it's time to start celebrating Guy's bday come midnight...sweet.

The start of my Adventure

Some Pics of Tofino 2005

gorgeous.....

can't argue with that...

Myself, Kara and Layla enjoying the ocean view.
Robin, Woeters and Carla preparing to end our adventures in Tofino and go home.

January 21st and still on Bowen....

So here we go. Carla and I are getting the last of our gear in order and are ready to go. For all of you that I haven't been in touch with...probably my fault, Carla and I are backpacking our way around South East Asia for 6 months, and a getting on that plane very, very soon. Personally I think I'm in a slightly greater hurry to get out of here than my other half. I mean, no offense to Bowen but who thought I'd ever be here for 6 months!! I sure didn't.

I do recomend that you all jump on this tiny rock of the West at some point in your travels. The people here are great, so friendly and easy going. We party like we're in high school and dine like millionaires. My stool at the Pub where Carla works (which is also conveniently across the street) is threatening a permanent groove. It's nice to know I can come back in ten years and know nothing will have changed. Well, except all my boys will be grown up and my ladies will probably be married.

So tonight Carla is working and I am getting ready to dance off my lingering hangover at the Burlesque show, where else than at the Pub (and yes its actually called 'the Bowen Pub'). Big John bates and the Voodoo Dolls are aparently quite the show...can't wait! All the cougars will be out tonight...myself included. Actually, I guess I'm really only in training. Although I do get a kick out of how many times I've been at a house party drinking wine and someone is like "How can you drink that stuff?...oh righ you're old" ouch, thanx guys...I'm going back to the Pub and my cougars...

Anyways, I better go slather on my wrinkle cream, and chill a bottle of Finca for the afterparty...I'm gonna miss this place.
