Layover in Taipei

It's 11:32am and Carla and I are going on 4 hours of excitement stuck in the Taipei airport, looking out into the sunny landscape, desperate for a breath of fresh air. Oh well, another 3 hours here, and we get on our flight to Bangkok. Should be there by about 4:30 pm local time. Tried to get on an earlier flight, but of course, no luck there.

The flight was long, but I do recomend China Airlines for its entertainment system. I could get used to flying with my own personal tv in the headrest in front of me. We got to choose any new movies, music, ect. And the best part: they have a camera infront and below the plane, so you can watch an arial view of the ground a you land. Super cool! Woke Carla up for that one.

So not much going on in this little airport. Tons of alcohol and perfume to sample at all the duty free shops, and too many sales people to count. We caved and forked over 8$USD a piece for a bowl of noodles, after being so hungry. Good eats, although it will take some bravery and time to get used to all the exotic veggies.

We've found our hostel in BKK, and are hoping we can survive our first day there withought getting ripped off...not very likely it seems.

We will try to post some photos in the next couple of days.

I can't wait to get out of this airport and lie on the beach....we are way too pale to not look like nubies.

ps Carla says 'hi'. I am assuming one of these days she will stop being shy and type something herself. hehe
